Just had my phone interview with Knolls. As much as I don't want to move to NY, I am intrigued and will accept an in-person if they offer. Albany looks like a nice area, I think I'd be happy there. A bit curious that it would be the third state capital I'd reside in. =P Think my interview went well. The lab manager's about to go on vacation and did tell me I probably wasn't going to hear anything until October. O_O Hiring would probably take a long time too, because the job requires security clearance. Suppose my mission of avoiding getting arrested has been a good thing so far. Well, that's better than Sherwin. They told me I'd hear in a couple of weeks, and it's now been over two months and nothing. *eyeroll*
I need to go grocery shopping tonight. First I'm going to finish cleaning the kitchen and hunt down some food. Then I'm going to finish watching S1 of Veronica Mars...and probably start on S2. Maybe.
I'm thinking of switching my mood theme out. Still love TG, but getting a bit tired of this one. Not sure if I ever uploaded a VM mood theme, but that's the one I'm in the mood for at the moment. That should kill an hour or two of boredom if I go that route. Or maybe a Sherlock mood theme, that could be good too. =P
Ok, borked code has been fixed.
I need to re-read these books. It's been a long time. In the middle of Lies My Teacher Told Me at the moment. Maybe I'll give fiction a try after that.
Your result for The Sorting Hat: A Comprehensive Harry Potter Personality Assessment [Test/Quiz]...
61% Ravenclaw, 57% Hufflepuff, 40% Slytherin and 38% Gryffindor!
Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw,
if you've a ready mind,
Where those of wit and learning,
Will always find their kind;
The cardinal traits of Ravenclaw are intellect, wit and openness to experience. They are the most introverted house of the four. Ravenclaws are more likely to prefer small gatherings of like-minded individuals and require recooperation after stressful social interaction. These individuals are intuitive creatures, the quintessential researchers. They lack the stubborn, strict, and rule-abiding qualities that would inhibit intellectual growth—one can't be too set in their ways if they are to be open to exploring new ideas and paths of thought. In contrast to Slytherin and Gryffindor, Ravenclaws in general are much more emotionally stable. Their reactions seem dampened compared to the sometimes dramatic responses of the other houses—they're much less likely to get offended, they're more open to criticism, not particularly argumentative and interested in hearing different points of view. They can at times seem to be less interested in people and more interested in their own inner world, and appear to be disconnected from the rest of humanity.
Ambition is secondary to them. Although they may strive to excel in school, knowledge and self-enrichment is the primary goal as opposed to simply wanting good marks. If they do happen to strive for excellence, it is because it fits with their other goals, not out of a desire to be superior or the best. Due to their intuitiveness and willingness to listen, Ravenclaws can be empathetic and make good advisors. They should generally leave leadership roles to people who are more extraverted and who would enjoy them more, however.
I've never done this before. I always expect nobody will ever know me or say anything, but I guess I'm less pessimistic about that this time.
Plus I'm going through and replying to everyone's I know there now. =) Happy Holidays everyone!
You know what’s coming up? October 3rd. Are you doing anything special to mark the one
When you see this on your flist, quote Veronica Mars.
Veronica: [voiceover] Tragedy blows through your life like a tornado, uprooting everything, creating chaos. You wait for the dust to settle, and then you choose. You can live in the wreckage and pretend it's still the mansion you remember. Or you can crawl from the rubble and slowly rebuild. Because after disaster strikes, the important thing is that you move on. But if you're like me, you just keep chasing the storm.
In the meantime...
Comment to this entry (if you want to) and I will give you a letter. Name 5 songs you love beginning with that letter.

Jason's employers are apparently dying to meet me (not sure why), and since I lost the ability to drive my truck (don't ask unless you're giving me a rocket launcher), I have the company car. I have been very nicely asked to not crash it.
( Meme time. )
Well, gotta go check the mail (on FOAD watch again, lucky me), then heading out to Janesville for a bit. Have to dig out my hoodie, it's in the low 60's today. Too cold for early September in my opinion. And everyone else's too. I hope.
Most of you I've not met in real life I've met in a fandom community of some sort, so this shouldn't be too hard. Those of you I HAVE met in RL should know me well enough here. =P
Give me a fandom and I will:
Name My Favourite Character
Name my major ship for that fandom
Give you my favourite relationship in the fandom
Give you my least favourite relationship in the fandom
What I think was the best thing the creator(s)/writer(s) did in the verse

He got an e-mail from someone saying his girlfriend wanted him to act more like Edward Cullen. And I'm still sitting here in terror.
Yeah, good god, I fucking hate these books. They have informed a generation of girls with self-esteem in the fucking toilet that the perfect guy is one who fucking oils the window hinges so he can sneak in and watch you sleep for months while during days pretending that he hates you. Then when you start dating, he never lets you do anything because he's a controlling asshole and you'll just kill yourself walking anyways.
God dammit, can people get therapy for too much Twilight? The stupidity these books have caused in the public is going to send me to therapy.
And now I need a drink. Or a solid brick wall.
( TV Meme )
1) Post a list of up to 20 books/movies/anime/TV shows/video games/bands [fannish etc.] that you've had an obsessive fannish love or interest in at some time in your life.
2) Have your f-list guess your favourite character from each item.
3) When someone guesses correctly, strikethrough the item and put the name of your favorite character next to it.
( So, who else is bored and knows me somewhat well-ish? )
Oh holy crap, my fiance only knew the answer to one of these, and it wasn't an 'easy' one like Daria or Veronica Mars! Possibly we're rushing this. ^_~
So I've got a meme instead that I swiped from annie_oakley. Tagged by nobody. I tag anyone who is bored and wants to procrastinate. Or just give us all something fun and useless to read. :p
