Happy Paczki Day!

Paczki

Okay now, be honest-who here knows what I'm talking about and is celebrating with the real thing? Who here knows what I'm talking about and is likely going to be celebrating with mislabeled donuts at a store that means well but doesn't know anything? (I'm in category #2, since I really don't feel like a trip to Milwaukee or Chicago for paczki) And finally...who has no clue what I'm talking about and thinks I just invented a holiday for junk food? ^_~

I KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT AND AM SAD BECAUSE I HAVE NO IDEA HOW I'M GOING TO GET A PACZKI HERE AT COLLEGE.

and my last name is Michalski, so I'd be dishonoring my heritage!

Oh my gosh those look amazing. If I get any, they will probably be from Meijer. I am trying to resist, since I am supposed to be on a diet.

I LOVE PACZKI DAAAAAAAY!

All day I've been contemplating driving over to Meijer or something to pick up a paczki. I didn't get one last year and the way my week's been going so far, I think I deserve those thousand calories of deliciously fried goodness. My favorite's apple; what's yours?

Custard. Or raspberry. Or apple. NOT PRUNE THOUGH, YUCK.

I'm not Catholic so I've never celebrated Lent like others. I have participated in my Protestant version of Lent a couple times, but I've never fasted and certainly never eaten a paczki. I do, however, have an insane amount of access to paczkis were I ever in want to participate.

I'm an atheist, so I never celebrated it for religious reasons either. Mostly just as a metro Detroit tradition. ^_^

Picked up a few today, from a Polish deli no less. :) (apricot, not my favorite, but you take what they have when it's 2 PM already)

Yeah, I'm not likely to get any at all. Oh well.

I went out to get one, and brought back two dozen to share with my co-workers. What can I say? The spirit of generosity filled me, much to my surprise.

I've been eying those puppies for the last couple days, but am waiting until they drop the price on them. Blueberry and lemon are my favorite flavors. I read a local article polling people on what they were giving up for Lent, and one person said they were giving up on the human race (LOL).

Nobody's asked me what I'm giving up for Lent this year...although I never give up anything anyways.

I gave up on the human race years ago, so I'd have to try some other smart-ass answer. :p
