Less than 48 hours.

I need a massive fucking drink. I was not this nervous in 2008.

Up for grabs tomorrow-all GOP held seats right now

Kapanke(R) vs. Shilling(D) By all accounts, Kapanke is toast. He represents a fairly liberal district and has been losing at double digits for ever since polling started.

Hopper(R) vs. King(D) We have a narrow lead in this one, and I'm not sure why it's not a stronger lead. Not sure what the hell changed, Hopper barely won his seat against the same candidate the first time. It looks like we'll take this one, but it's not as sure as we'd like.

Olsen(R) vs. Clark(D) Narrow lead for Clark, but at the moment, too close to call. His district has been a popular one for the canvassers from Madison, because it's the closest one to us. Also the only one I'm getting political ads for, lucky me.

Darling(R) vs. Pasch(D) VERY narrow lead for Pasch. Very much too close to call. As co-chair of the budget committee and a very major player in the GOP senate right now, Darling is someone we all want to see taken down. I despise her and what she's done more than anyone else who stands to lose their seat. Her district has had the most money spent on it in these races. She looked like she was going to safely hold her seat even a month ago, but it is now a toss-up.

Cowles(R) vs. Nusbaum(D) I'll be honest...if there's a seat the Dems are most likely to not win, it's this one. In purely toss-up territory. Nancy Nusbaum's mother died late last week.

Harsdorf(R) vs. Moore(D) This is another toss-up seat that isn't looking so hot for the Dems. It's been commented on that Moore is not the best candidate, but she is phonebanking today.

Next week, the two Dems who have to defend their seats. On my husband's birthday too. Lucky him!

Bob Wirch(D) vs....who? The only thing I've heard about this seat is that Wirch is in the lead by double digits. I have no clue who his opponent is(I suppose I could easily find out, but why bother?). We're a bit distracted at the moment by tomorrow's elections, and I know we've got moves in place to defend Wirch, but this seat is not considered to be in danger at all at the moment.

Holperin(D) vs. Simac(R) If we win three seats tomorrow, Holperin is going to be hit HARD. I keep hearing conflicting polls, that he's either ahead by several points if not necessarily safe, or he's in a dead heat. Simac is batshit crazy. She hasn't shown up to a single debate, but she is connected with the churches up there. So if the Dems take three seats tomorrow, the GOP fundraising machine is going to go after Holperin with everything they've got. If we take 4+, not sure they'll bother. Wirch is holding his seat and I for one can't see why they'd waste the money if they can't take the majority back.
It kind of really sucks over just how much of a toss-up so many of these seats are.

I will be at Hawk's tomorrow night with my laptop to watch the election returns with some other friends I've made in this mess. We'll all need the company. And the drinks. Why do you think we keep having all our meetings in bars? ^_~

In fun news, apparently the national media's going to take over my city again. Honestly, not sure why. I guess we started in Madison, we'll finish it in Madison? None of the state elections are happening in Madison.
