And having stomach issues. And I ended up hurting my right shoulder pretty badly on Saturday night. Since I still don't have health insurance, I'll be grateful that I didn't break it, and enjoy the bruising and slight inability to move for awhile longer. In other news, why the hell does my father's company not ever want to cover me? I'm not 25 yet, I'm a full-time student, and I'd really like the fucking forms, please.
I start teaching a class in about......55 minutes. My boss is NOT Mr. Norton, it's Dr. Joe Davis. A really nice, friendly person. He doesn't have a fucking clue what he's doing. Mr. Norton, while the most unpleasant person in the world, definitely knew his shit (unless it was a lab answer key, or how to get people to like you without taking acting lessons). Dr. Davis....he keeps asking me how to teach the lab, how I'm gonna do this....I have no idea! I've never taught this class before! The other TA has told me it's an easy class (the experiments look pretty damn easy at any rate), so if I start having serious problems, well, Dr. Reinhold, the phlegm master, has his office right across from my cubicle, and he's the professor for the class, so I can just go bother him sometime.
I talked to my advisor about starting research. I've got articles to read and a synthesis experiment to perform on Wednesday. There goes what was left of my life. But on the plus side, I've missed lab work and am really looking forward to this. Looking even more forward to finishing up classes....wait....I've got another year to go yet...to say nothing of how much time as a TA I've got...
I bought Seasons 3,4, and 5 of Sex and the City. It's a really nice distraction from all the schoolwork I haven't really done yet. I should probably wait though. I start grading labs next week, and while teaching can be moderately stressful, grading just makes me want to get plastered. Incidentally, the older grad students have told me to have a glass of wine or a beer while grading. Makes it go much quicker. :p So next paycheck, I'll get both DVD sets of Season 6, then I need to find something else to waste my money on. :p
Oh, and Bob, if you're reading this, Kalamazoo sells Leinenkugel's Big Butt. :)
I need to go teach. And make sure my lab coat didn't disintegrate left all alone in my locker for 6 weeks.
