Finally! During the first gulf war when I was in the Air Force and my sister was in the Navy, there were out gays and nobody cared. I can't believe it took the military this long to figure that out.
I think nearly all the citizens have wanted it repealed for years, it was a stupid discriminatory policy at the get-go. Just...it's ridiculous how long it took to get repealed.
This is great news. I agree, it is about time. Considering the problems this country faces, wasting time enforcing an outdated bullshit rule like that is a waste of our time and resources. Besides, the only people who really care nowadays whether someone is gay or not are the Republicans and the National Enquirer.
