I nearly shoved a knife through my right hand at about 4:30 or so CST. Never seen really dark red blood gush from my hand before.

So I've got a stitched up hand. Just three, it wasn't too horrid. And a bonus tetanus shot. Having the wound numbed up for the stitching hurt like a mofo. Easily the most painful part...well except the part where the knife went into my hand and I sat around in pain holding a bunch of paper towels there until Jason could get home to drive me to the doctor, since the bus would've been standing room only AND taken longer to get there. All in all, not my greatest evening.

But hey, picking up my forced left-hand dominance again from my massive wrist injury back in high school. And I can still use my right hand, unlike back then. I'd just rather not. This is quite painful. The numbing shots haven't worn all the way off yet, so I know it's gonna get worse. Next couple days are gonna be kinda low-key.

I think I may have been put off brownies for awhile. Yep. Took this one while trying to cut a brownie that had apparently fossilized. Soft-serve ice cream please.

Ouch! I hope it heals quickly without incident! I hope you've learned your lesson though; brownies are evil! Stay away. ;)

One more comment about brownies being bad for me and I may shove the demon knife into someone else! Man, all my friends/family have really latched onto that one. (nothing against you personally, I'm just tired of being told how brownies are bad for me by everyone else)

Thanks for the well-wishes! How're you doing in your waterlogged state?

lol. I didn't say they were bad for you, I said they're evil. Which they are...as far as food goes. I think strawberries are a nice food. Donuts also seem like a happy food. They don't object or put up a fuss when you make to eat them. Some foods like brownies and instant noodles are on the dark side. I once pretty much sliced the pad of my index finger off trying to open a flavour satchel in a packet of noodles, ergo, evil. Any food that has a natural defense mechanism (well, maybe not natural, but you know...) = evil.

..and I am rambling a lot. I am on my way to bed and thought I'd pop in and reply. In retrospect it probably would have been better to wait, but I've typed all that crap out it seems a waste to delete it. Also a lot more effort than hitting submit.

Oh, and we're doing okay. Well, I am. Aside from the zero food aspect again. But this too shall pass!

Just remember when the itching starts, it means it's healing, so resist the urge to scratch with a fork.

*winces in MASSIVE amounts of pain at the thought of scratching it with a fork*

Seriously, OUCH.

Yeah I'll probably resist that urge should it ever come up!

Your John and Sherlock plushies are made of serious amounts of AWESOME, love them!

I'm thinking I may go for cheesecake now. It's soft, it's tasty, it's always good times with cheesecake! =P

Ouch! I hope your recovery is quick. (Note to self: never try to cut fossilized brownies. They can hurt hands and break fillings.)

Yeah, I dumped a bunch of water in the pan so Jason can clean it more easily later. That whole mission for quick chocolate did not go well at all.

After just having received stitches for the first time in my life (I also have three) I sympathize. Granted, I was in pain during the surgery and the local didn't do jack shit, but the pain afterward was pretty intense. Not to mention how annoying the stitches are when they start itching!

I hope you're feeling better soon and that the pain doesn't get too bad.

It was the first time for me as well.

A friend of mine on Twitter gave herself almost the exact same injury five days ago, so she told me it's gonna just SUCK the first couple days, then the itching will kick in and be really irritating. I woke up, yawned, stretched, then about screamed in pain this morning cause it felt like I was ripping something out of my hand when I stretched. So...guess I'm off working out then? This blows. Hope your recovery goes well too.

Yeah, I've had to take it easy with working out. I was given instructions that told me not to work out at all, since it causes blood to pump more heavily through your system and you could risk tearing the stitches.

Boo on stitches. :(

I can't do it. I just can't do it at all. I was gonna try taking some walks around the less sketchy parts of my neighborhood, but it's 9 out on a warm day this week, so that ain't happening. Crud.

Ouch! Feel better! And use this as an excuse to make Jason do all of the housework you don't like ;)

It happened 11 days ago, I'm mostly better.

Oh I did. I was banned from doing dishes...a ban that can probably be lifted, but the cut still hasn't closed up, so why tempt it? =P
